The 2025 Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour promises an exciting year for pickleball enthusiasts, featuring a packed schedule of high-stakes competitions, international expansion, and showcase events that highlight the sport’s growing popularity.
The tour kicks off with major tournaments in January, including The Masters in Rancho Mirage, California (January 6-12), and the Australia Pickleball Open in Melbourne (January 28 - February 2), marking the start of the international series. Throughout the year, the tour stops in locations such as Florida, Texas, North Carolina, and even abroad in cities like Mumbai, Toronto, and yet-to-be-announced venues in Asia and Europe.
For the first time, the PPA is hosting a five-stop international championship series in partnership with the United Pickleball Association (UPA). Events in Australia, India, Canada, and other global destinations will allow local and international players to compete alongside top pros like Ben Johns, Anna Leigh Waters, and Federico Staksrud. This move signifies a major step in growing the sport’s global presence.
The tour maintains its competitive format, featuring singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events played in a best-of-three (or best-of-five for doubles) format with traditional scoring (11-point win-by-2 system). Players accumulate points throughout the season to qualify for prestigious championships like the Carvana Mesa Cup and the PPA Masters Championship.
The tour’s expansion includes events in stunning locales, from coastal retreats to mountain venues, offering not only thrilling gameplay but also picturesque settings for players and fans. The introduction of international tournaments and collaborations with local organizations demonstrates the sport’s surging momentum on a global scale.
Fans and amateurs can register for events or purchase tickets through the PPA’s official website. The tour also encourages participation through amateur brackets, providing opportunities for players of all skill levels to compete where the pros play.
2025 is shaping up to be a groundbreaking year for pickleball, blending competitive excellence with international reach and community involvement. Whether you’re a dedicated fan or a curious newcomer, the PPA Tour offers a front-row seat to the evolution of this dynamic sport.
